Powerforce Renewables was commissioned to design and install a comprehensive solar PV and battery storage system for a domestic property in Portsmouth Road, Southampton. The objective of the project was to help our client offset rising electricity costs and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle by reducing reliance on grid electricity.
Project Objectives
The solar system was designed to minimise the homeowner’s electricity expenses by maximising the use of self-generated solar energy. By adopting renewable energy, our client’s aim was to significantly reduced their carbon footprint, contributing to a more sustainable future.
The Solution
Powerforce Renewables installed a 7kW solar PV system with 16 Jinko 440W panels and a 13kWh battery. The Growatt hybrid inverter manages energy flow, maximising self-consumption and reducing grid reliance.
The solar PV and battery storage system is designed to reduce grid dependency by up to 75%.
It is on track to exceed its estimated output by over 30%, which will further shorten the payback period and reduce our client’s energy costs even more quickly.
The Results
CO2 Savings: 1.19 tonne
Annual Savings: £1390
Since the installation was completed, the system has generated 2,280kWh in just 5 months.
By generating and storing solar energy, our client can meet most of their electricity needs independently, even during peak demand times or at night. This significant reduction in grid reliance not only lowers energy bills but also provides greater energy security and resilience.
